Survivor Corps is fighting the root causes of violence by:
We have a unique approach for rebuilding entire communities one survivor at a time:
The World Health Organization has declared violence a major public health threat. 80% of the casualties of modern warfare are civilians, compared to only five percent 100 years ago. Treaties and negotiations are often carried out without the participation of those most impacted by violent conflict.
Survivor Corps’ 10 years of global campaign and advocacy work began with our leadership in the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, for which we were honored as co-recipients of the 1997 Nobel Prize for Peace. We continue to participate in national and international campaigns to protect and empower people affected by violent conflict with the goal of creating more peaceful and stable societies.
