Survivors Impact Nairobi MBT Summit
Mine Ban Treaty activists and government representatives gathered in Nairobi, Kenya from November 28 - December 3 for a comprehensive review of treaty achievements.

More than fourty survivors representing all mine-affected regions of the world participated in The Survivor Summit - a lead-off event for the Nairobi Summit for a Mine Free World. Survivors at the Summit presented a Survivor Declaration to Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, calling on governments to increase assistance to survivors.

Twenty-three survivors from the Raising the Voice group participated in the Nairobi Summit Race, either by walking, biking or wheelchair racing. Edgar Moreno Moreno, a Raising the Voices' participant from Colombia won the bicycle portion of the race, competing against non-disabled participants.

Five LSN Country Directors, and LSN Co-Founder Ken Rutherford were present in Nairobi for this important meeting.
