Adnan Al Aboudi, Director, LSN-Jordan, accepted a 2006 GMC Sierra pick up truck as a generous donation from the General Motors Company, and Mohammad Reza Yousef Behbehani, Kuwait GMC dealer, to advance the work of Landmine Survivors Network. On October 17, a team of GM executives traveled to Amman to deliver the truck and visit LSN’s field program.

Bosnia Hosts Seventh Annual Princess Diana Sitting Volleyball Tournament - October 2005
LSN Bosnia-Herzegovina held the 7th Annual Princess Diana Memorial Sitting Volleyball Tournament in Tuzla, Bosnia on September 2, 2005. Six teams from across the country participated in the tournament, giving landmine survivors and other athletes with disabilities the opportunity to showcase their talents.

Rights For All - August 2005
The U.N. committee negotiating an international treaty to codify the rights of people with disabilities ended its sixth session on August 12, 2005 in New York City. Draft articles debated during the session covered topics such as children, education, health, accessibility, monitoring and oversight, and international cooperation.

Landmine Survivors Network is currently participating in the U.N. meeting that is drafting the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities, which began on January 24. As a leader of the historic International Campaign to Ban Landmines and Co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize for Peace, LSN has extensive experience in negotiating international human rights treaties.
