Survivor Stories
Chris Moon - United Kingdom
Chris Moon, a British mine survivor who lost his hand and his lower right leg while working as a de-miner in Mozambique, is the network's representative in the United Kingdom. Less than a year after his 1995 accident, Mr. Moon ran the London Marathon to help raise money for other landmine survivors. In 1997, he ran marathons in Cambodia and Mozambique, and ran 150 miles in the Sahara desert to raise $150,000 to make artificial limbs for amputees in Vietnam. Mr. Moon has a masters' degree in security studies and is now director of MTB Management, Ltd.
