Hamat Bourdjo - Chad
Hamat was a military deminer in Chad. On Feb. 12, 1981, after having demined several thousand mines and UXOs, he had a mine accident and lost both legs. Despite the difficulties arising from his disability, Hamat is one of the main supporters of his family of 20 people. He cultivates a garden providing food for them. He is also the current president of the Association of Mine Victims in Tchad.
Hamat is a 2002 Raising the Voices participant.
