Ruslan Abu-Muslimovich Abdulkhanov - Russia (Chechnya)

Ruslan was injured by a landmine that detonated when he was cleaning up his backyard. He lost his left arm and some of his eyesight. He now has 50% sight in his left eye and 15% in his right eye.

Ruslan is currently studying at the Grozny Oil Institute. Prior to his studies, he worked for the local organization Minga, which is a joint project between a Chechen businessman, Malik Sadulaev, and Mercy Corps, a U.S. organization. Minga is an organization for children with disabilities, and Ruslan was a computer trainer. Prior to this work, Ruslan volunteered with Voice of Mountains, an organization that raises awareness about mines.
