Survivor Stories
Suada Palic - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Suada was born in 1982 in Kotor Varos, though her family left their home in 1993 because of the war. Her family is still displaced and living in a relative's house while waiting for their house to be repaired, since it was completely destroyed during the war. Suada stepped on landmine in 1994, at age 12, while collecting the firewood. The explosion resulted in her left leg being amputated below the knee.

Since Suada has finished Secondary school and has experience in tailoring, LSN recently provided her with a sewing machine and some bolts of cloth so that she can begin working at home.
