John R. Taylor graduated from Haverford College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He attended law school at Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania, and received a law degree from Cornell in 1986. After law school, John joined the Philadelphia law firm of Dechert, Price & Rhoads, where he represented a primarily corporate client base on a variety of civil litigation matters. From 1989 to 1997, John worked at the Philadelphia law firm of Berger & Montague, where he represented plaintiffs in class action lawsuits seeking to recover losses arising from violations of federal securities, antitrust, and environmental laws. In 1997, he left Berger & Montague with two colleagues to establish the firm of Sandals, Langer & Taylor, which also focused on plaintiff's class action litigation. In June of 2000, John became the managing partner of a philanthropic consulting firm.
