Mona Abdeljawad
Director of International Programs

Mona Abdeljawad has been working with LSN since 1999, where she has been responsible for setting up the Jordan network and training staff on running the basic operations of the network.

Currently she is responsible for setting up a regional office based in Jordan, where the objective of the program is to enhance the lives of landmine survivors and amputees in the Middle East North Africa region. On a system level, she works through mobilizing disability groups and persons with disabilities to change legislation and systems related to the rights of persons with disabilities. She also works on securing partnerships that will improve health and economic services for landmine survivors in the region.

Mona is also the Convention Campaign Coordinator, an LSN campaign that aims at securing 80+ ratifications on the proposed Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and is a Certified Management Accountant. She came to LSN with four years experience, having worked with Save the Children US, where she worked on a Group Guaranteed Lending and Saving Project for women.
