Chim Kong - Cambodia

Chim Kong is 20 years old and lost her leg to a landmine in Cambodia in 1989, while collecting firewood with her friend. Kong is a graduate of Maryknoll's Skill Training Program at Wat Than, where she learned tailoring. She now trains other landmine survivors to make fine handicrafts and is a salesperson at the National Center for Disabled Persons in Phnom Penh. In June of 1997, Kong traveled to Washington, DC, to meet Princess Diana and American Red Cross President, Elizabeth Dole.
