Survivor Stories
Aleksandar Kecman - Bosnia and Herzegovina
Aleksandar Kecman was injured in 1994 during the civil war in Bosnia when his foot activated a landmine while he was getting ready to camp for the night.
Aleksandar currently works as a volunteer for an NGO called the Association of Amputee Persons or “UDAS”. Part of his work includes creating a database of landmine survivors in his country. He is also active in implementing a number of projects for landmine survivors, particularly those focused on reintegration. Aleksandar plays volleyball in a local sitting volleyball club.
