Richard C. Barker

Richard C. Barker is Vice Chairman of the Board and a Director of Capital Group International, Inc. (CGII). He is also Chairman of the Board of Capital International Limited and a member of the CGII management committee. Mr. Barker is a graduate of Brown University and studied at the University of Connecticut School of Business Administration.
He had previously served as Executive Vice President of Standard & Poor's Equity Services, Inc. and as Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager |of Standard & Poor's InterCapital Corporation, where he managed a growth-oriented mutual fund and several pension fund accounts. Before joining the S&P organization, he had served as a Director of Research and subsequently as Portfolio Manager at Connecticut General Life Insurance Company and its affiliate, CG Investment Management Company, where he managed three mutual funds. Mr. Barker joined our organization in 1971 and has also served as Chairman of the Board of Capital Guardian Trust Company. He is based in the San Francisco office.
